We are pleased to welcome Benjamin Bayer, DVM to our surgery department
Dr. Bayer is the first of three new specialists joining our team over the next few months. A native of Arlington, TX, Dr. Bayer graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. He completed a rotating small animal internship at the VCA Berwyn and Aurora Animal Hospitals in Chicago, IL and a surgical internship in Dallas. He went on to complete a three-year residency in small animal surgery at Iowa State University in 2010, receiving training in orthopedic, soft tissue, and neurological surgery. After his residency, he worked in Chicago before returning home to Texas.
Dr. Bayer’s research and special interests include canine idiopathic chylothorax, canine congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunts, cranial cruciate ligament disease, and intervertebral disc disease.
